Our strength lies in our differences.

It’s easy to pay lip service to diversity, equity, and inclusion, but harder to put those words into practice. It takes more than an annual mandatory training session to foster diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI). Real change happens when people at all levels of an organization are genuinely committed to creating a more inclusive workplace.

A serious DEI initiative requires introspection about an organization’s internal practices and its people’s personal biases. That’s hard work, and it’s worth doing. According to McKinsey’s January 2018 Delivering Through

Diversity report, companies in the top-quartile for gender diversity were 21 percent more likely to perform on profitability; the highest performers had more women in line roles than in staff roles on their executive team; companies in the top-quartile for gender diversity were 27 percent more likely to drive value creation; and companies in the top-quartile for cultural and ethnic diversity were 33 percent more likely to have industry leading profitability.

If innovation and product development are highly valued in your organization, take a good hard look at diversity, equity, and inclusion. DEI is about diversity of thought—the importance of welcoming multiple perspectives to the table. At Simpatico, we focus on real-world skills to help individuals, teams, and organizations “walk the walk” when it comes to fostering a culture in which all are welcome, heard, and inspired. We invite you to enhance your DEI journey with online courses available from our partners at The Diversity Movement. There are three courses to choose from with special group rates available if you email us at Info@SimpaticoNashville.com.
